How To Restore a New York License

You will be sent a Notice of Restoration from the Department of Motor Vehicles once you have completed your suspension time period. The notice will include complete instructions concerning how to get your license back. If you are a New York resident, generally, you will need to pay a fee of $25 (unless the suspension was for a driver under 21 charged with DWI or DUI, for which the fee is $125). The charge may be paid online or at a local DMV office.

Note that after your license is restored, you will be subject to a obligatory probation period during which any kind of new violations may bring about an additional suspension of your New York driver's license.
